Day 1

Amsterdam – departure Amsterdam to Entebbe in Uganda. Overnight in the Entebbe area.

Day 2

Entebbe, botanical garden. Beaches along Lake Victoria, which more half belongs to Uganda. Overnight in the Entebbe area.

Day 3

Departure to Bwindi National Park in western Uganda. Ride of 8 hours. Overnight in the Bwindi area.

Day 4

Bwindi Gorillas. Uganda and neighboring Rwanda are the only countries in the world where mountain gorillas still live. You will enter the area where the gorillas live with a local guide. You will find them in their daily life. You can see them up close and you can take fantastic pictures. Overnight in the Bwindi area.

Day 5

Departure to Queen Elizabeth Park, one of the safari parks in Uganda. Overnight stay in the Park area.

Day 6

Queen Elizabeth National Park. Game drive (safari) at 6:30 PM. In the park there are lions, elephants, buffalo, antelopes and many bird species. In the afternoon a boat trip along many hippos and elephants. Overnight stay in the Park area.

Day 7

Departure for Fort Portal. In Fort Portal is the palace of the King of  Tooro, one of the royal houses in Uganda. Overnight stay in a guesthouse with a Dutch owner.

Day 8

Visit to Kibale tropical forest. 1500 chimpanzees live here. Overnight in Fort Portal.

Day 9

Departure to Hoima. Visit to Albert Lake, where the Uganda-Congo border splits the lake in two. Overnight in Hoima.

Day 10

Departure to Murchison National Park, one of the most beautiful safari parks in Uganda. On the way we pass the top of the mighty Murchison Falls. Overnight in the Park.

Day 11

Game drive (safari). Lions, elephants, antelopes, buffalo and many giraffes. Afternoon boat trip to Murchison Falls. Overnight in the Park.

Day 12

Trip to Moroto, in Karamoja, in the northeast of Uganda. Here you will experience the original culture of this area, there are few tourists here. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 13

Moroto, breakfast. Walk on Mount Moroto, walk through a village. Experience of real life in Karamoja. In the afternoon to a small village, where families live in small fenced-in plots. We will stay with a family in tents, which we place in the family compound. Life is still very basic. No money is used in the small villages. Cows are the most important thing to these people.

Day 14

Breakfast in the village. Back to Moroto. Cycle tour through the town and visit a local market and a school. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 15

Trip to a kraal, where the cows are brought in the dry season. You sleep again in a tent among the local people.

Day 16

Back to the hotel for freshening up. Then departure to Jinja. Ride of 8 hours. Jinja is a town in southeastern Uganda, located on Lake Victoria. Overnight in Jinja.

Day 17

Morning visit to the Origin of the Nile. In the afternoon departure to Kampala. Overnight in the Kampala area.

Day 18

Morning to the souvenir market in Kampala, at the National Theater. In the afternoon to Entebbe for a last drink on Lake Victoria. Departure for the Netherlands in the evening.
